                Great fun for all the family, raising funds for local organisations. Children’s activities, prizes, family             fun and much more! Start at Mortehoe Museum, or North Morte Farm Campsite.

2nd          Clovelly Lifeboat Weekend & Maritime Festival. This year Clovelly is joining the two events for a                 thrilling family fun-filled weekend. On Saturday, watch the Clovelly Cup Yacht race, with the         sponsored swim from Bucks Mills to Clovelly. Live music, craft and food stalls. 3rd           Round Table Birdman 2019 – Ilfracombe ‘s biggest event of the year! A great event for anyone and                 everyone. On the harbour contestants will be trying to prove they can fly. There’s food and drinks,            live bands to enjoy. Do you think you can fly? 11am – 10pm. Free entry.

3rd           The Big Summer Bash! – Braunton ‘s Biggest and Best Free Summer Event. This year will see more           live music, bars, loads of food stalls and craft market. Braunton Recreation Ground. 12 noon – 8pm.

4th           Lundy Air Day – Enjoy a trip to Lundy on the MS Oldenburg and watch as light aircraft and             microlights land on the back field during the day. The current record is 75! The sailing is departing     Bideford at 8.30am and returns at 8pm. Special ticket prices are Adults £30, children £15.

6th           Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park – Sand Sculpture Competition. The holiday park wanted to do                 something different for their guests this year. So, they will be building their sculptures on the beach         in areas B & C, so why not go along and check out how everyone is doing!

                Event will be running from 11am. Winners will be announced in the main club house that evening.

7th           Borough Farm, Sheepdog and Falconry Display.  Enjoy an evening in the company of the amazing                 Borough Farm sheepdogs. Anchors Aweigh, Shanty singers – perform at The Square, Mortehoe on Thursdays at 7pm and at The Red Barn, Woolacombe on Saturdays at 7pm. All performances are weather permitting. Everyone is welcome.

 

Woolacombe Dunes Parkrun is a weekly running/walking 5km event run entirely by volunteers, every Saturday at 9am on Marine Drive. (Run starts at 9 so get there before for the briefing.) All welcome, but you do need to sign up on the parkrun website beforehand and print off your barcode to bring on the day.

Mortehoe Museum - The gem in North Devon’s stunning coastline, no visit to North Devon is complete without discovering the ‘Mortehoe Experience’ at this lovely Museum. The special exhibitions this year will be WWII displays including the National Register, which was kept at the Red Barn, and was used as a social centre for US troops. National Trust Express Beach Clean. Join the Beach Rangers every Sunday throughout August. Enjoy the fresh air and help do your bit to keep Woolacombe beach looking lovely this summer. All equipment is provided, so why not bring the whole family and the dog!  Free event, no need book. 10am - 11.30am.

Lee Arts and Crafts Fair - Running from the 27th July until Sunday 11th August in the Memorial Hall, EX34 8LW. Open daily from 11am – 4pm. In addition to their regular exhibitors, there will be some new exciting crafts this year. So why not go along and see all the beautiful handmade and unique items for sale. Refreshments available, free admission. Plenty of parking next to the hall.

 

Pirate Trail, Lee Bay – Every Sunday in August, from 1pm – 4pm. Come and buy a treasure map and explore Lee Bay by finding the pirate boxes! Answer all the questions on the map and claim your reward. Start and finish at The Old Schoolroom Gallery next to the Church and opposite the village hall. Weather permitting. Tel 01271 864067.

 

National Trust - Bee Trail Arlington Court – Take a gentle stroll around the garden and pleasure grounds and find out more about the bees the staff at Arlington are encouraging at Arlington. Collect the trail from the Reception. Children are welcome and dogs are also welcome on leads.

National Trust - Baggy Point Coastal Family Trail – Can you find all the clues on the Baggy Point Coastal Family Trail? Enjoy this self-led trail along the beautiful headland at Baggy Point, Croyde, and learn more about the amazing coastal creatures that live there. Map £1 from the Car Park Kiosk.
